Chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919, The American Legion is the nation’s largest veterans service organization and its Department of California is dedicated to serving the approximately 2 million veterans living in communities across the Golden State.

Every year Redwood City Post 105 supports local Patriotic events such as Veterans Day, Memorial Day and July 4th.
Besides helping veterans, Post 105 has a full family of volunteers, Auxilary, Riders and Sons of American Legion. All of us support veterans from Final Honors to holiday gift wrapping to Toys for Tots. Post 105 is one of the most active in California.

The American Legion’s Commission on Children & Youth has three main objectives: to strengthen the family unit, to support quality organizations that provide services for children and youth, and to provide communities with well-rounded programs that meet the physical, educational, emotional and spiritual needs of young people.

The Legion was instrumental in the creation of the Veterans Administration in 1930, and an ardent supporter of its elevation to cabinet status when it became the Department of Veterans Affairs in 1989.
